Jokisch SKS

Properties:

This coolant is an additive for plastic injection molding machines, laser cutting and welding equipment, and other water based cooling systems whether open or closed-loop. Extremely active rust inhibitors protect equipment, pipes, dies and molds from oxidation and corrosion.

CSC inhibits bacterial build-up, algae and fungal growth in pipes, tanks and water jackets. This provides better cooling performance because of unrestricted water flow. CSC also contains strong anti-foaming agents and is chemically stable. This allows for a long, active life between changes.

From an exposure standpoint, CSC is safe. It is non-toxic and can reduce or eliminate environmental concerns. It is chlorine and sulfur free.

An economical mix of 1 part concentrate to 40-50 parts water can be used. CSC does not evaporate thus dramatically reducing concentrate consumption.

CSC is also utilized as a "dip-in" or "spray-on" rust inhibitor to protect dies and molds that are stored indoors. (Suggested mix is 1 part concentrate to 20-30 parts water.)

Available in convenient 5 gal [20 litre] containers, and 55 gal [205 litre] drums.

Notes:

Due to CSC's active cleaning properties, a lot of slime, scale and contaminant residues may be flushed from the system. This will most likely occur when changing to CSC from an existing coolant. It may require filtering of the coolant or a total "change-out" within 2 to 4 weeks of the initial fill.

Suggested
Maintenence for CSC:

  1. See above NOTE regarding CSC's cleaning characteristics.

  2. For an open cooling system, check coolant mix with a refractometer at least once a week to determine "top-off" mixes. (The majority of loss is water. To maintain a mix of 1 part concentrate to 40-50 parts of water, a suggested starting "top-off" mix of 1:80 - 100 is recommended.)
  3. For a closed loop cooling system, use the refractometer to check coolant approximately every 2-3 months. There will be water loss through sweating of permeable lines/tubing as well as minor evaporation.
  4. The "top-off" mixes for both systems are the same; (1:80 - 100 concentrate to water).
  5. Consider system change-out of coolant every 6-12 months. For disposal, used CSC may require treatment (such as filtering). You must consult your local/municipal/county regulations before disposing of any Jokisch product. (However disposal should be made simpler as Jokisch CSC is non-toxic and contains no chlorine or sulfur.)

pH:

Jokisch SKS has a pH between 9.0 - 9.5. This prevents rusting of machine, fixtures and parts. Jokisch SKS can also be used as a corrosion inhibitor at a 2% mix (1:50)

Foam:

Jokisch SKS has very strong anti-foaming agents. It is well suited to grinders which require a strong anti-foaming coolant especially for maximum performance during high pressure coolant feeds.

Consumption:

Jokisch SKS does not evaporate. Due to its unique formulation it reduces coolant consumption by 50% or more. When coolant must be replaced, a refractometer (RHB-32) is recommended for proper coolant maintenance. A 1:35 - 1:50 parts coolant/water mix ratio is optimum, with a "top-off" mix suggested at 1:80.

Disposal:

Jokisch SKS is extremely stable, and will not need to be disposed of as often. We recommend changing the coolant once a year or using an extremely efficient filtering system. Jokisch SKS is chlorine-free thus reducing disposal costs.
